We had a terrific day today. We had put out a call yesterday evening to the worldschooling group to see if anyone would like to join us for some playtime at the aquaduct this morning. Part of the draw of this region for us was the worldschooling hub which means that people who travel with their kids or who are on holiday or leave like us, come and stay here for a stretch of time and there are organized activities for the familes to take part in. Bean had enjoyed our day at the aquaduct so much yesterday he wanted to return today. Luckily a very nice family of four were up for it and we arranged to meet there. For about four hours the kids played together, and with us parents, games of hide and seek, frozen statue, baseball and more. Bean had never played baseball before so this was his introduction to it, using a giant plastic water bottle as a bat and improvised bases. He seemed to really enjoy it. I really enjoyed getting to know the parents and learning about their lives and travels.
Later in the afternoon, Bean and I attended a cooking class organized by the hub. Bean and I learned to make nachos and once again I really enjoyed getting to know the other parents and hearing their stories. The whole thing took place at an outdoor campground kitchen where there is also a trampoline that the kids had fun jumping on. Practically our whole day was spent outdoors, kind of like camping. It was a very satisfying day.
